I actually like this piece at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). But if you find it too cute, the museum has tons of great fine art. Definitely worth a visit if you are in LA and like fine art.

Jaguar Effigy Vessel, Guanacaste-Nicoya Culture, 1000-1350 AD – Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The hollow front legs include clay pellets that produce a low rattling sound similar to a jaguar’s growl.

Statue, Our Lady of Gethsemani Abbey, Kentucky. Thomas Merton was a Trappist monk at the Abbey of Our Lady of Gethsemani from 1941 to his death in 1968. Merton is considered one of the most important spiritual writers of the twentieth century. His books include, The Seven Storey Mountain, No Man Is an Island and New Seeds of Contemplation.
