Bull Run Mountain Conservancy, Virginia offers a nice, simple, quiet trail with some ruins of stone building.

Forest Glen Preserve provides a nice walk through forest (mainly) and some prairie. While walking through the forest I lost the trail and eventually found to a farmers field and followed the road back to the entrance.

The top of the Mesa Trail in Boulder, Colorado offers a great view of the Rocky Mountains. It is a wonderful, steep (over 3,000 feet in elevation gain), 6 mile, round trip, hike.
