In Indonesia I am asked to have my photo taken with people much more than anywhere else. This one is at a very small temple (Candi Sambisari) that I don’t think gets many tourists but I think these girls were just waiting (and enjoying talking with each other) to get there photo taken with tourists.

The girls asked the only other tourists there during my time there for photos also. I am wearing my Curious Cat t-shirt in the photo.

If you know what bird this is, please leave a comment with the name. My guess is it is a fish eating bird based on the size and beak.

Absolutely wonderful setting next to a rice field. This in in Ubud on the road near Monkey Forest. A great place to stop for a meal.

I took this photo on the Campuhan Ridge trail in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. The hike was quite nice short (about 1 km, 2 km round trip) walk. The goes starts with some vistas of rice fields and nature. Then the trail goes into a village setting with quite a few artists galleries for the tourists. At the end of the trail there is a very nice restaurant with great views.

Sewu temple is the second largest Buddhist temple in Indonesia, Borobudur is the largest. The Sewa temple is located in the Prambanan temple complex in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (about 1 km away from Prambanan temple). They are rebuilding many of the temples on the site which now lie in ruins.

Candi Sewu was likely built in the 8th century as the royal palace at the end of the Rakai Panangkaran kingdom.

Borobudur is an amazing Buddhist temple built in the 9th century. This site is well worth a visit. It is located outside Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia. I have posted more photos and a video from my visit to the Borobudur Buddhist temple site, which is a world heritage site.

Borobudur includes 504 Buddha statues. I didn’t notice the bat in this photo, when I was visiting.

I did notice this lizard.
