Wonderful sunset on a mostly deserted beach in Khao Lak, Thailand , today. Normally my photos of sunsets are washed out and don’t even provide any idea of how beautiful the sunset was. The photos I took today (after a certain point in the sunset) somehow came up with enhanced color (significantly more than I saw live). Also the area around the sun is more distorted in this picture and those seeming camera effects around the sun were indeed not what my eyes saw.

Photo of a great meal in Khao Lak, Thailand. Frankly I ordered it just because it sounded cool to have it served in a pineapple. It was cool, but also tasted fantastic, the orchids on the pineapple and drink are real.

I took this photo while walking from Batu Feringgi to Tanjung Bungah. There were some nice views but it probably isn’t very smart to walk it as considerable distances have no sidewalk at all and you have to walk within a foot of where cars and trucks zoom by. And even when there is a sidewalk you have to be watchful for huge holes, feet across and several feet deep, you could easily fall through.

This is the view from my hotel room, now (of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). My hope is I will be posting much more frequently to this blog in the next month, than I have been in the last 6 months.
See more photos from Malaysia. I have also started a new blog recently: Living in Malaysia.

This photo shows me getting an early start as a world traveler in Bangkok, Thailand. You can see the Grand Palace in the background. I am taking my small steps toward it in the foreground. In addition to this blog, the Curious Cat Travel Photos site document my continuing travels.

Facade of an old building in the cypress swamp in Cypress Gardens, South Carolina. You can rent canoes to boat through the swamp: I recommend it. See a view of the ruins of the side of the building.

Antelope on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Island State Park, Utah. Great hikes and wonderful views, especially with the storm clouds on the day I was there.
